Acne is a skin disease that can occur in various stages of life, but is usually perceived as a side effect during puberty. This form of acne called acne vulgaris, and as is most common in parts of the body with skin sebaceous glands such as the face, neck, chest or back. The severity of acne can vary widely, from barely perceived blackheads, known as comedones, to purulent, inflamed pustules and papules (acne papulopustulosa), which can also terminate in abscesses and fistulas. Such a severe form known as acne conglobata.
